(JUNEAU) - Legislators representing Southeast Alaska assembled Wednesday, January 29th to form a bipartisan Southeast Caucus to stand together in support of Southeast issues. Members of the caucus include Sen. Robin Taylor (R-Wrangell), Sen. Kim Elton (D-Juneau), Sen. Georgianna Lincoln (D-Rampart), Rep. Bill Williams (R-Saxman), Rep. Peggy Wilson (R-Wrangell), Rep. Beth Kerttula (D-Juneau), Rep. Bruce Weyhrauch (R-Juneau), Rep. Albert Kookesh (D-Angoon). The caucus elected Rep. Peggy Wilson to chair the delegation.
"The Southeast delegation shares common interests and commitments that cross party lines," Wilson said. "We of the Southeast Caucus will be working together in a bipartisan manner to make sure the issues of importance to Southeast are addressed in the 23rd Legislature. We may represent different parties but our districts face many of the same challenges, issues and concerns. As a united force we will have a stronger voice in the legislative process."
