"An Act making an appropriation for design and construction of a senior housing project in Sterling; and providing for an effective date."

Senate Bill 15 appropriates funds from the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) for design and construction of a senior housing project in Sterling.

The Sterling Senior Citizens have acquired property and completed the planning necessary to go forward with construction of senior housing units in Sterling.

This bill provides for a grant of $1.5 million to the Sterling Seniors for construction of a ten unit facility, with space for an additional ten units.

This project may be funded under the 2003 Capital Budget from both grant and loan funds through AHFC and thus this legislation would not be required to complete the housing.
