(ANCHORAGE) - Senate President Gene Therriault is pleased to announce that the Republican leadership has hired a new Senate Majority Press Secretary. Jeff Turner is a lifelong Alaskan and veteran political reporter who started representing Alaska's 12 Republican Senators this week.

Jeff worked for 11 years at Anchorage television station KTVA and most recently served as its Assistant News Director. He brings a strong understanding of both state and local issues to his new position. Senate President Gene Therriault says, "we look forward to drawing on Jeff's long experience in communicating our priorities to the public, effective communication is key to a vibrant democracy."
