(JUNEAU) - Sen. Charlie Huggins (R - Rural Mat-Su/Chugiak) will chair a special meeting of the Senate Transportation Committee on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 10:00 am in the Wasilla Legislative Information Office.
The Knik Arm Bridge and Toll Authority's Executive Director Darryl Jordan will give lawmakers the newest details on the proposed Knik Arm Crossing.
Jordan will discuss the possibility of funding for the bridge under Congressman Don Young's new Six-Year Federal Highway &Transit Funding legislation now under consideration in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The hearing will also cover the status of the environmental impact statement, the process for public input and a general overview of the progress made so far on the bridge project.
The public is encouraged to attend this hearing. There will be time allotted for questions and answers following the presentation.
