04-21-05 : Amends an existing state law (AS 08.66.015) by deleting the phrase ''current model'' and adds a definition for ''new vehicle'' that is generally consistent with the Alaska Department of Law definition. In 2004, the Alaska Legislature passed HB 272 which amended the Auto Dealers Act. That law sought to protect consumers from autos marketed as new when in fact they had been previously sold or had the odometers switched out which voided the manufacturers warranty. The Department of Law concluded that law would be more effective if modications are made to the law.
