(ANCHORAGE) - Senator Ralph Seekins (R- Fairbanks) will chair a joint meeting with the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday, September 30th at 9:00am at the Anchorage LIO. The lawmakers will meet to discuss the state's current process for judicial nominations.

Former state judge and Secretary to the Alaska Constitutional Convention Thomas Stewart is expected to attend. Four applicants for the most recent judicial opening have also confirmed they will be there, and the members of the Alaska Judicial Council have also been invited.

The hearing will take place in the second floor conference room of the Anchorage Legislative Information Office at 716 W. 4th Ave. It is expected run until approximately 2:00pm.
