March 21, 2000 Mid-Session District Survey Results Dear District 18 Resident: I have some interim results from many of you who have returned my 2000 Session Survey. I want to thank all of you who have returned your survey. I applaud your involvement! I would also like to encourage those of you who have not returned your survey to do so. Your participation helps me to make the decisions that are necessary, as my decisions are strongly influenced by your input. Last session, the Legislature cut Municipal Revenue Sharing (M.R.S.) by 33%. Despite past cuts and knowledge about future cuts, Anchorage has increased the Municipality's budget and property taxes each year. Do you feel that:

Another issue that may interest you is that the Draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), as amended, is available for public comment. You can get a copy from the Internet at http://www.dot.state.ak.us/external/state_wide/planning/finalstip98-1.pdf. If you have any concerns about the roads or trails in the Anchorage area, I encourage you to look at the STIP and make any comments to the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities that you think appropriate. The public comment period is open through April 13, 2000. Lastly, I have been informed that cars parked at Flat Top have been broken into lately, as often as two a day.
