House Legislation Passes on Day 117

Juneau -- The Alaska House Representatives and Senate Saturday passed the following House legislation:

In the Senate:

HB 68: Board of Pharmacy

Sponsored by the House Labor and Commerce Committee, HB 68 extends the Board of Pharmacy until June 30, 2005. HB 68 passed the Senate 20-0.

Portrait of Representative Fred Dyson HB 78: Transfer of Vehicle Title

Sponsored by Representative Fred Dyson (R-Eagle River), HB 78 would allow transfer of title without emissions test upon sale of non-operable vehicles and those with seasonal waivers; further, HB 78 would permit the entire transaction to occur at a DMV counter rather than involving other agencies. HB 78 passed the Senate 19-0.

Representative Scott Ogan HB 109: Glacier Bay National Park

Sponsored by Representative Scott Ogan (R-Palmer), HB 109 affirms state sovereign jurisdiction in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. It also prohibits the expenditure of state funds to adopt, enforce, or otherwise assist in the implementation of the federal regulatory program for control of fish and game in the park. HB 109 passed the Senate 20-0. Notice of reconsideration was filed.

Representative John Harris HB 110: Sale-Labeling of Meat-Milk Products

Sponsored by Representative John Harris (R-Valdez), HB 110 permits farmers who choose not to inject their dairy cows with synthetic hormones to say so on their products' labels. HB 110 passed the Senate 19-1. Notice of reconsideration was filed.
