Juneau -- The Alaska Senate Monday passed House Bill 363, sponsored by Representative Alan Austerman (R-Kodiak). HB 363 renames the existing Wholesale Price Report to become the Alaska Salmon Price Report by updating it to include all salmon product types.

"As industry contracts become increasingly sophisticated, they become more and more dependent on the State's collection of wholesale data," Austerman said. " This legislation should help fishermen and others in their pursuit of better information. This process should gradually lead to higher ex-vessel prices, benefiting local fishermen, communities, and the state."

HB 363 passed the Senate 18-2. Notice of reconsideration was filed.
