Sponsor Statement for SB 363 An Act relating to electioneering communications and communications intended to influence the outcome of an election and to campaign misconduct in the second degree; and providing for an effective date.
SB 363, "Electioneering Communications", seeks to require parties, groups, and non-group entities making "electioneering communications" to disclose the source of funds used to pay for the communications. SB 363 defines "electioneering communications" as a communication that is intended to influence the election of a candidate and that clearly identifies one or more candidates or political parties and with limited reference to external events, be susceptible of no other reasonable interpretation but as an exhortation to vote for or against a specific candidate. # # # Attachments:
