SB 260, "An Act relating to historic and antique motor vehicles; and providing for an effective date", would allow classic and antique vehicle owners to pay a one-time registration fee as an alternative to the biennial registration renewal fee.

SB 260 seeks to allow owners of classic and antique cars to use authentic Alaska license plates that correspond to the year the vehicle was manufactured for a one-time fee of $10. SB 260 specifies that only classic and antique cars used primarily for historic exhibition or similar activities qualify for the one-time fee.
