Sponsor Statement for SB 109 An Act relating to the unincorporated community capital project matching grant program; and providing for an effective date.
SB 109 revises the Unincorporated Community Capital Project Matching Grant Program by expanding the program to include unincorporated communities within boroughs and unified municipalities. The communities that would be eligible are those with a population of 25 or more. They must also have received approval by the assembly for the respective borough or unified municipality for the "entity" that will administer the project for the community. Further, the project must receive the approval of the assembly. The administering entity will be required to provide a local share that is the same as that required of the borough (under the Municipal Matching Grants Program) in which they are located. Finally, the legislation changes the time line for which the funds are available from the current five years to four years for project start up. SB 109 S(CRA) 2/24/01: mj # # # Attachments:
