Pictures of Elected State Officials
An Act relating to the use of pictures in election materials.
Released: January 29, 2001
The ability to use public funds to print information about elections and voter registration materials featuring pictures of elected state officials creates an inappropriate opportunity to politicize the election process.
This bill limits the use of pictures of elected officials on election materials to those pictures included in the official election pamphlet. Inclusion in the election pamphlet is currently provided for a fee charged to the candidate.
