Committee to Review Proposed Legislation
(ANCHORAGE) - The Joint Committee on Natural Gas Pipelines will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 19, to review proposed federal gas pipeline legislation submitted by the Alaska Gas Producers Pipeline Team, a consortium comprised of BP Exploration, ExxonMobil and Phillips. "We are going to conduct a section by section analysis of this proposed legislation and hear testimony from the producers' team, Foothills Pipe Lines, Ltd., Anadarko/ Alberta Energy, and the Alaska Gasline Port Authority," said Sen. John Torgerson, (R-Kasilof) chair of the committee. "Then we will be able to develop the committee's position on this legislation." The all-day hearing will begin at 9 a.m. in the Basement Conference Room of the Anchorage Legislative Information Office, 716 W. 4th Avenue. Public testimony will be taken from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, and those wishing to testify are asked to limit their comments to three minutes. # # # Attachments:
