Attorney General Opinions

Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge Land Status (Formal Opinion)

2002-01
This is a 17-page report regarding the Point Campbell and Campbell River mouth areas. The opinion is that, the area is not part of the refuge and its conveyance to the Municipality of Anchorage is valid and not part of the ACWR. What was in question was who has authority to regulate the areas and to what degree.

File # 663-03-0064-This response deals with the Republican Moderate Parties gubernatorial candidate race. The question is based on the fact that the party did not nominate a running mate (Lt.Gov.) in the primary. Since write ins are not permitted in the primary, the decision allows the candidate to run in the general without a running mate.
