This year I have the honor of serving as the Chair of the Administrative Regulation Review Committee. It is a position I am taking very seriously as I feel the Committee is the "Center Point" of communication between legislative intent, the Administration and the public.
It is my goal to find out that information, by ensuring that Regulations are written using the clearest definitions. It is critical that a process designed to enhance, not to hamper the laws of our great state do not unduly burden Alaskans.
We are seeking your input regarding any regulations that have come to your attention that may adversely affect economic growth throughout the state. We are also interested in any specific recommendations you may have for regulatory reform. Past gains in this area have been small and slow and will probably continue that way, however each gain eases the burden placed on you by the regulation process.
Further, none of the members of this committee are afraid to ask the tough questions. Be it a question of interpretation, a misunderstanding or just ignoring the issue that the Legislature tried to address. We will be there to assure Alaskans are treated fairly by the entire government process.
You do have a voice when it comes to Regulations and we are here year-round to make sure that voice is heard. Please do not hesitate to contact any member of the Committee.
