"Whether or not people agree with the Iraqi conflict, they should thank the men and women who serve their country."
- Rep. Lynn
Juneau - The State House of Representatives unanimously approved House Joint Resolution 18 Wednesday by a vote of 39 to zero in support of President Bush's decision to take action against Saddam Hussein. The resolution is a bipartisan effort to support America's troops stationed in the Middle East for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
"These men and women made a commitment to serve their country and are fulfilling their promise," Lynn said. "That kind of honor and bravery is commendable."
Lynn acknowledged that not everyone supports conflict with Iraq; however, that disagreement is founded on the American ideal that everyone can have a different opinion. Lynn said showing support for the men and women who serve their country is essential for America's unity.
"Whether or not people agree with the Iraqi conflict, they should thank the men and women who serve their country," Lynn said.
