Another session has come to a close as of May 9, 2006. As most of you know, "Special Session" on the gas-pipeline was announced and began on May 10, 2006.
I have attached a 24th Legislature wrap-up from Representative LeDoux. One of the most exciting pieces of personal legislation passed this year is HJR 9. To follow the bill in its course through the House and Senate, click on the link below.
HJR 9, is a resolution asking the US Congress to honor the judicial process and not pass any legislation that would affect the outcome of the settlement of the Exxon Valdez oil spill disaster. Its final version included additional language that urges the United States Department of Justice and the Alaska Department of Law to pursue the $100 million made available for mitigation of unanticipated damages stemming from the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill.

This is the last fisheries update you will receive from me until next session. It has been a pleasure getting to know all of you. I have enjoyed learning about fishery issues vital to the State of Alaska and its residents over the past two sessions while serving as Representative LeDoux's fisheries committee aide.
Please feel free to drop me a line over the interim at my personal email address.
