(Juneau) - Rep. Vic Kohring (R-Wasilla/Mat-Su) will chair his first legislative "town hall meeting" for 2006 to seek input from the public on issues and concerns as they pertain to the 2006 legislative session. This meeting, an open forum, will take place at the Wasilla Legislative Information Office, on Tuesday, January 10, 2006, 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The address is 600 E. Railroad Avenue, next to L&B Color Printing in Wasilla.
"I'm traveling from Juneau to again listen to residents of the Mat-Su, to hear their concerns and suggestions relating to legislative issues," said Kohring. "Since the capital remains in Juneau, it's important my constituents have direct access to me, and these meetings help serve that purpose."
Kohring noted he is in his 12th year of hosting town meetings in the Valley, and that it is his intent to continue them. "I welcome all interested individuals to attend, and look forward to hearing from them," he said.
Kohring is chair the Legislature’s Oil & Gas Committee and is a member of the Transportation, Health, Education & Social Services, Administrative Regulatory Review and Rules Committees. He also serves on budget subcommittees for the Department's of Administration, Transportation, Education and Natural Resources.
