"I'm here to listen to my constituents concerns, ideas and recommendations on how I can do my job better as I represent them."
- Rep. Kohring
(Wasilla) - Rep. Vic Kohring (R-Wasilla/Mat-Su) has announced he will chair a legislative "town hall meeting" to seek input from the public on issues and concerns prior to the start of the 2006 legislative session. This meeting, an open forum, will take place at the Wasilla Legislative Information Office, on Monday, December 19, 2005, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The address is 600 E. Railroad Avenue, next to L&B Color Printing in Wasilla.
"I'm here to listen to my constituents concerns, ideas and recommendations on how I can do my job better as I represent them," said Kohring. "People need to have access to their local representatives and know their concerns are being listened to, and this forum provides that opportunity."
Kohring is chairman the Legislature’s Oil & Gas Committee and is also a member of the Transportation, Health, Education & Social Services, Regulatory Review and Rules Committees. In addition, he serves on four budget subcommittees.
"These meetings are an effective way to communicate with the public, and a great way to keep in touch and better understand my community's needs, he added."
Kohring said he welcomes all interested individuals to attend, and encourages their participation.
