"I can then take recommendations back with me to Juneau. I find these town meetings very useful, because it gives people access to me as their representative, it gives them a chance for their voice to be heard, and it helps to better educate me on my community’s needs."
- Rep. Kohring
(JUNEAU) - Rep. Vic Kohring (R-Wasilla/Mat-Su) has announced he will chair his third and final legislative "town meeting" of the session to again seek input from the public on legislative issues of concern. This final meeting, an open forum, will take place in the conference room of the Wasilla Legislative Information Office, on Saturday, April 2, 2005, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The address is 600 E. Railroad Avenue in Wasilla, next to L & B Color Printing.
"I’m returning once more to my district before the session concludes, to seek feedback from my constituents on the budget and legislation before us. I can then take recommendations back with me to Juneau," said Kohring. "I find these town meetings very useful, because it gives people access to me as their representative, it gives them a chance for their voice to be heard, and it helps to better educate me on my community’s needs," he added.
Kohring serves on a total of nine committees in the Legislature. He is Chairman the Legislature’s Oil & Gas Committee and is a member of the Transportation, Health, Education & Social Services, Regulatory Review and Rules Committees. In addition, he serves on four budget subcommittees, all of which have finished their work for the session.
Kohring said he welcomes all interested individuals to attend, and encourages their participation.
