"I'm pleased to have these additional assignments because it allows me to be even more actively involved in critical legislation affecting Alaskans."
- Rep. Kohring
(JUNEAU) - Representative Vic Kohring (R-Wasilla/Mat-Su) has been appointed by his legislative colleagues to two additional committees - the House Health, Education & Social Services and the House Rules Committees. These new assignments are in addition to his Chairmanship of the Oil & Gas Committee, as well as memberships on the Regulation Review and Transportation Committees.
As a member of the Health, Education & Social Services Committee, Kohring will likely hear legislation addressing health issues such as hospital certificate of needs, school funding and numerous other social issues facing the state. On the Rules Committee, Kohring will be part of decisions to schedule legislation for consideration on the House Floor.
"I'm pleased to have these additional assignments because it allows me to be even more actively involved in critical legislation affecting Alaskans. Being responsible for five committees obviously will keep me extremely busy this session, but it will be worth the effort," Kohring said.
