"Vietnam veterans fought bravely for the ideals America lives by."
- Sen. Huggins
(Juneau) - A resolution encouraging all Alaskans to see the Vietnam War memorial known as the "Moving Wall" has been signed by Governor Frank Murkowski.
Sen. Charlie Huggins (R - Rural Mat-Su/Chugiak) is himself a Vietnam veteran and the proud sponsor of SCR 21.
"Vietnam veterans fought bravely for the ideals America lives by. This summer, the Moving Wall will visit several Alaskan communities so all of us get the opportunity to remember and respect the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country," said Sen. Huggins.
The "Moving Wall" is a replica of the Vietnam War memorial in Washington D.C and will be in Alaska from May to July in the following communities:
Fairbanks 5/24 - 5/30
Wasilla 6/01 - 6/06
Eagle River 6/08 - 6/13
Kodiak 6/15 - 6/20
