(Juneau) - Sen. Charlie Huggins (R - Rural Mat-Su/Chugiak) will speak at the annual Vietnam Veterans of America State Presidents Convention being held January 13-14 in Anchorage at the Anchorage Westward Hilton Hotel.
"I am proud to be one of the 70,000 veterans who call Alaska home. My speech will highlight how the Last Frontier honors its veterans and provides the services and resources they've earned," said Sen. Huggins.
Sen. Huggins is a decorated Vietnam veteran with 25 years of service in the U.S. Army. He was a Platoon Leader in the 75th Ranger Regiment in Vietnam and served as the Senior Army Advisor for the Alaska National Guard.
After the convention Sen. Huggins will attend the Mat-Su Valley Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Observance in Houston on Monday.
