"HJR 31 is a choice. The people of Alaska will make the ultimate decision at the ballot box. Please ponder this plan and feel free to comment."
- Rep. Holm
(JUNEAU) - The House Ways & Means Committee will hold a hearing on Representative Jim Holm's (R-Fairbanks) resolution, HJR 31.
HJR 31 is a constitutional amendment to pay out $20,000 to every Alaskan and use the money remaining in the permanent fund to generate earnings for the budget gap. The bill calls for the issue to be on the ballot this November.
The hearing will take place tomorrow, February 18, 2004, beginning at 7:00 A.M., in Room 519 of the State Capitol. Public testimony is welcome.
