The purpose of HJR 16 is to show support for all of our military personnel and their families especially now as we near the possibility of war. We depend on our military to protect this nation. They take on this daunting task as a matter of course. The protection and security of our nation and our citizens depends on these brave men and women who make tremendous sacrifices every day in their service to us.

The Alaska State Legislature recognizes the commitment of the members of the Alaska Army National Guard, The Alaska Air National Guard and other members of the military and their families, and expresses its support for these gallant defenders of freedom.
