(Anchorage) - The House Majority met this afternoon to decide leadership positions for the upcoming Twenty-Fifth Legislature.

Representative John Harris (R-Valdez) retained his position as Speaker of the House for the next two years. Representative Ralph Samuels will serve as Majority Leader, with Representative John Coghill taking on the Rules Committee Chairmanship.

The Finance Committee leadership will remain the same with Representatives Mike Chenault (R-Nikiski) and Kevin Meyer (R-Anchorage) continuing their roles as Co-Chairs of the Committee.

Other members selected to serve on the House Finance Committee are Representative Bill Stoltze (R-Chugiak/Mat-Su), Vice Chairman, Representative Mike Hawker (R-Anchorage), Representative Richard Foster (D-Nome), Representative Mike Kelly (R-Fairbanks) and Representative Bill Thomas (R-Haines).
