(JUNEAU) - Today Sen. Fred Dyson (R- Eagle River) will testify before the Senate State Affairs Committee about his Health Savings Account legislation (SB 94) at 3:30 pm in the Beltz Committee Room.

SB 94 gives state employees the option of choosing a High Deductible Health Plan as a component of a Health Savings Account. Employees will be able to deposit up to $2,600 a year, or $5,150 a year in pre-tax dollars into a Health Savings Account to pay for uninsured medical expenses.

"This legislation not only saves patients money on medical care, it forces the health care industry to be more competitive. Alaskans with HSA’s will be looking for more than good medical care, they will insist on fair pricing for good medical care," said Sen. Dyson.
