(ANCHORAGE) - Senator Fred Dyson (R-Eagle River) will speak at the Alaska Children's Maltreatment Conference on Wednesday October 6, at 11:30am at the Captain Cook Hotel.
The theme of the three-day conference is "Translating Ideas into Action." Representatives from law enforcement, the judicial system and social service agencies from across the country will network to find new solutions to combating the physical and sexual abuse of Alaska's most precious resource, its children.
Senator Dyson is a long time foster parent and a tireless advocate for children's issues in the Alaska Legislature. His speech will be a plea for Alaska's children. Three adult survivors of child abuse will also speak at the conference and give their personal perspectives on the issue.
