"The legislative exchange is a way to learn how each others systems work, a way to work on common interests and build relationships. Cooperation on issues such as building highways, railroad connections and gasline initiatives is formed by these on-going relationships."
- Sen. Dyson
(JUNEAU) - This Wednesday and Thursday seven members of the Yukon Legislative Assembly will be in Juneau to attend both House and Senate floor sessions. They will also visit with various members and observe committees in action.
Yukon legislators will meet Wednesday morning with Lt. Gov. Loren Leman and receive a copy of senate bill 56. SB 56 is sponsored by Sen. Fred Dyson (R-Eagle River) and allows the residents of the Yukon to obtain sport fishing licenses and anadromous king salmon tags, in Alaska, for the same fees charged to Alaskan residents. Yukon laws have already reciprocated the favor.
"The legislative exchange is a way to learn how each others systems work, a way to work on common interests and build relationships. Cooperation on issues such as building highways, railroad connections and gasline initiatives is formed by these on-going relationships," said Sen. Dyson.
