(Anchorage) - The State's Senate and House Committees on Health, Education and Social Services will meet Wednesday, November 5, 2003 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at various legislative information offices to take public testimony and comment.

It will be a time to collect testimony on issues such as public assistance, senior services, the State's child protection system, the restructure of the Department of Health and Social Service and to respond to the Office of Children's Services federal audit.

The goal is to allow citizens who cannot travel to Juneau the opportunity to be heard by the legislators and to acquire feedback from citizens who receive state services.

Videoconference links are planned for the Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau Legislative Information Offices and teleconference connections can be arranged for other locations by calling the office of Senator Fred Dyson (R-Eagle River) at (907) 694-6683. All state legislative information offices will be available for participation.

For those citizens who cannot attend but would like to be heard please deliver a copy of your testimony to your local legislative information office and it will be distributed among the committee members.
