"An Act relating to waiver of permanent fund dividend application requirements in a time of national military emergency; and providing for an effective date."

HB 287 allows the Commissioner of Revenue to wave the application deadline for the Permanent Fund Dividend to a member of the United States Armed Forces during time of national emergency.

This bill will authorize consideration of an extension in the filling date to a member of the military, when they are assigned in support of the condition causing the national emergency. When our troops are called away to service and they miss the deadline due to conditions out of their control, HB 287 will give them some recourse.

Alaska's service men and women are providing a vital service to Alaska, allowing them ample time to file required documents for the Permanent Fund Dividend is the least we can do.
