Increases the current E-911 surcharge caps from 50 cents and 75 cents to a statewide cap of $2, and allows an increase above the cap by ordinance approved by the voters of the E-911 service area. Requires parity in surcharge amount applied to wireless and wireline telephones. Requires notification by the municipality when the surcharge is assessed and changed. Defines appropriate use of the E-911 surcharge revenue. Requires E-911 providers to execute an agreement addressing the duties and responsibilities of each entity and establishing how E-911 funds will be allocated. Provides municipalities with a mechanism to implement E-911 for multi-line telecommunications systems. Applies to home rule and general law municipalities.

02-14-05 : Requires nonresidents to pay an export tax for sport caught fish shipped out of Alaska. A $10 dollar sport fish export tag must be attached to the outside of a container for every 50 pounds or less of fish within the container. SB 107 raises additional revenue from visitors that can help pay for fisheries management. If passed, the law becomes effective January 2006.

03-03-06 : Passed Senate. Notice of reconsideration given. Imposes an annual tax in Regional Education Attendance Areas (REAAs) to pay operating costs of local schools within the area. Levies the tax on persons 21 years of age or older who reside in an REAA on Jan. 1, or who work in an REAA the lesser of 10 consecutive days or a full pay period, or 20 cumulative days. Exempts senior citizens, those with income below federal poverty guidelines, disabled vets and those paying a property tax in another area of the state. Intent language specifies that the revenue collected is to be returned to REAAs as additional funding, not supplanting state or federal funds.
