There are two public events coming up I thought you may be interested in. The first is an impressive gubernatorial debate put on entirely by high school students. The debate will be between all of the candidates including Sarah Palin, Tony Knowles, Andrew Halcro, David Massie, Don Wright and Billy Toien. The forum will be the only gubernatorial event held in Eagle River. It is open to the public, and there will be a segment in which citizens may ask questions of the candidates.
When: Tuesday, October 3rd at 7 pm. Where: The Steve Primis Auditorium at Chugiak High School. Who: The Junior Statesmen of America Chugiak Chapter will host the debate. JSA is a nonpartisan group that supports political activism by students in the community.
There is also a public hearing and open house to comment on the Knik Arm Crossing Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Draft EIS) and Draft Section 4 (f) Evaluation. Decision makers will present at the public hearing to consider your comments. Testimony from individuals may only last 3 minutes, while groups or agencies are limited to 5 minutes.
When: Monday, October 16th. The Open House will be from 11:00 am-9:00 pm and the Public Hearing is from noon - 3:00 pm and from 4:30 pm - 9:00 pm. Where: Hotel Captain Cook (4th and K Street). Who: Decision makers with the Knik Arm Crossing Project
Sincerely
