The Senate Finance Committee will take public testimony on SB 220, "State Sales and Use Tax," tomorrow, May 14th, from 4:30 -
7:00 p.m. You can read the bill online at http://www.legis.state.ak.us/pdf/23/ Bills/SB0220A.PDF.
Those interested in testifying are encouraged to go to their local Legislative Information Office to do so. A two-minute time limit on testimony may be imposed, depending on the number of people who sign up to testify.
The Anchorage LIO is located at 716 W. 4th Avenue, Suite 200. If you have questions about testifying in general, please call them directly at 269-0111.
If you absolutely cannot go to an LIO but would like to testify, please call Senate Finance Committee Co-chair Senator Gary
Wilken's office at 907-465-3709 and ask to be signed up for an off-net connection. There are a limited number of off-nets, so call
Senator Wilken’s office early.
Alternatively, you are welcome to send an e-mail to Senator_Gary_Wilken@legis.state.ak.us and ask that your testimony be entered
into the record. Please be sure to include your full name and town with your message.
If you would just like to watch the hearing on TV and hear the comments that come in from around the state, you can do so by
watching KTOO’s Gavel to Gavel on cable channel 18 or by listening on the web at http://www.ktoo.org/gavel/audio.cfm.
